Walkathon organised under Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Namchi, 15th August (IPR): Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Namchi in collaboration with District Administrative Centre organised a runathon under the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 as part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to mark the 75th Independence Day Celebration today.
The runathon was jointly flagged off by DC (South) Mr M Bharani Kumar and Sr. SP(South)Mr. Thakur Thapa from Assangthang Helipad which was culminated at District Administrative Centre, Namchi.
During the program, District Youth Coordinator NYKS Mr. Muskan Rai spoke about the motive behind the initiative which is to encourage people to take up fitness activities like running and sports in their daily lives to get freedom from laziness, obesity, stress, anxiety and diseases.
The participants were also administered a fitness pledge.
Throughout the rally, the participants marched by singing patriotic songs, slogans and waving the tricolour flag.
It may be mentioned here that the walkathon had the participation of 73 youths from South Sikkim. Similarly, the same event was also conducted in Melli Bazaar.
