Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign

Namchi, 2nd October: District Legal Services Authority (South) and Taluk Legal Services Committee (South) Sikkim at Namchi organized Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign on the occassion of NALSA “Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav” at District Court premises Namchi and Rong Ward, South Sikkim , today.
The purpose of the program was targeted to spread awareness about welfare legislations various schemes and to strengthen the community’s access to the schemes being implemented by the Legal Services Authority and other Departments of the Government. The program aimed at identifying and connecting people to welfare schemes to ensure that fruits of the welfare schemes are passed to the eligible people. The program also looked upon understanding the legal needs of the people by addressing their legal problems and giving appropriate legal advice.
Today’s program focused mainly on celebration of Gandhi Jayanti.
The program was launched by the Chairman, DLSA (South) Mr. Jiwan Kumar Kharka in presence of the Ex-Officio Chairperson, T.L.S.C. Namchi Ms. Jwala D. Thapa, Learned Advocate Ms. Kamala Gurung, Para-Legal Volunteers Mr. Chandra Bdr. Rai and Ms. Sangay Doma Sherpa and Staff members of the D.L.S.A and T.L.S.C South Sikkim.
There were around 48 people who attended the program and were benefited. The attendees interacted with the representatives of the Departments present to address their problems and to procure appropriate advice and guidance. The program ended with a vote of thanks.
