Meeting held by Hon’ble Minister cum Area MLA at Mamring and field visit by District Administration

Namchi, 29th July : The Hon’ble Minister cum Area MLA, Shri. Sanjit Kharel convened a meeting with Pharma Companies, PGCIL and Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Project Officers with regards to road maintenance works along Mamring – Jholungey(uptil Transasia) and issues related to compensation and tower erection under Namthang Rateypani Constituency.
He was joined by District Collector (South) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar , Sub Divisional Magistrate (HQ) Mr. Chiran Rizal, District Project Officer (South) Abhishek Kharel, Divisional Engineer (Power) and Head Surveyor Mr. Tikaram Sharma.
The Hon’ble Minister urged the companies to come forward and initiate maintenance and upgradation of road as the road was in deplorable condition and was causing inconvenience to public and the companies itself. He therefore requested for collective contribution from the companies in maintaining the quality of road. He also requested the PGCIL Officials to sort out issues pertaining to compensation and tower erection works.
During the day the District Collector also inspected ongoing works pertaining to community development programme funded by the North East Council at Kateng Pamphok GPU along with Sub Divisional Magistrate (HQ), Asst Engineer (BAC Namthang), District Project Officer, Head Surveyor (Namthang Revenue Circle) and Junior Engineer( BAC Namthang). The team visited
a) Veterinary Sub Centre
b) PHSC Kateng
c) Kateng Sec School
Progress of work was found to be dissatisfactory. Hence necessary direction to upscale the progress of work was given. The team also visited Palitam wherein issue of Tower erection had come up. The District Collector spoke to the land owners to sort out the disputes so that progress on tower erection could me made.
He also inspected the CCC at Mamring which is jointly being established by the companies of Jholungey, Samardung and Mamring under the supervision of District Administration.
Lastly the team visited the VLO center which was in dilapidated condition and required urgent repair works.
