AATMA NIRBHAR NAMCHI
27th November 2020: “AATMA NIRBHAR NAMCHI”, a joint initiative of District Administration, Namchi and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Namchi was launched today at Central Park, Namchi in the presence of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Namchi and District Youth Coordinator, NYK. The initiative aims to develop an entrepreneurial spirit amongst the youth so as to make them self-reliant and capable of creating new jobs for the youth. The first part of the initiative consists of a food stall competition amongst three schools- Namchi New Secondary School, Namchi Senior Secondary School, and Namchi Girls Senior Secondary School- with every team having ten students and two nodal teachers who would be responsible for running the stall. The initial investment required to set up the stall would be completely borne by the students with each student contributing Rs.500 (five hundred only) from their own pocket. They would run the stall for three days from 27/11/2020 to 29/11/2020 at Central Park, Namchi at the end of which the team with the maximum profits would be declared as winner. Such a competition would help the students learn the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and the interested students would be given further support from District Administration and Nehru Yuva Kendra to start their own business in future.
Special thanks to Namchi Municipal Council, Namchi Police, Power Department, Fire Brigade, and Volunteers of VOICE for providing support.
